Day 2

I found this shirt it in my mom's closet yesterday, and it was so cute that I just had to share it with the world! It has this really pretty lace design in the front, and its velvet. (No surprise there haha).  The lighting might have made the color a little funny...so if you can't tell, it's supposed to be light mauve. As for the rest of the clothes, the skirt is from Forever21 and the shoes are from Gucci.

Outfit of the Day Project/ Day 1

Hey guys! Long time no see, sorry. Anyways, I had an idea a while ago, but I've only just gotten to carrying it out now. Everyday, for a year, I'll take a photo of my outfit. I think it would be interesting, for myself at least, to see how my style evolves. And for anyone who's following me, through this project, you'll get to see the different articles of clothing that I'm really into at the moment :)

Ok, so this technically isn't day one haha. The photo above is actually the outfit I wore yesterday... Anyways, the scarf is from H&M, shorts are from Urban Outfitters, the velvet shirt is my mom's, and the belt is from Forever21.

Tights (heart)

Forever21, $6.80
Saying I  like tights is a huge understatement. I'm addicted to them, especially the ones with patterns. Right now, I'm looking for ones with dots, and I think I might go to Forever21 this weekend to get them, because the tights there are only like six dollars. I also really really like the tights from American Apparel, but those are extremely expensive. (25 dollars for a pair of tights...). It's so worth it though. You know those tights with the punctuation marks on them in my first post? Yeah. I actually decided to follow through with the idea of wearing them to school, and I got a lot of mixed reactions. A third of the people were like "OMG I FREAKING LOVE YOUR TIGHTS", another third were like, "Cool...I guess...I would never wear something like that though." and the rest were like "FREAK." It was awesome :)

My current obsessions

1. Ikea
I just love it. It's so big and there's so much cool stuff there. Including the swedish meatballs. Yum... Oh and I'm going there today to look for a new wardrobe because my old one's getting too small. Finally! The last time I went there was like 2 years ago.

2.SHOES.
I used to think the right shoes didn't matter. Oh how wrong I was. More specifically...
  • oxford shoes: You know, those nerdy looking brown and white/black and white ones? Lucky for me, nerdy chic is back in again :)

  • Balenciaga heels: They are weird. They're sick. They're completely awesome, and I WILL own a pair someday.

  • Black booties with silver accents: By accents it could be like a buckle, or a gromet, or whatever other metal thing you can think of.
3. Forever21 Jewlery
Almost every piece of jewlery there is super cute and super inexpensive. They tend to break easily too so you have to be careful.

Halloween

Hi. Its been a while. Anyway, I was searching on youtube, and I found this really awesome really creepy makeup tutorial, and so I had to try it out. It's kind of like those eyes that anime charactors have. This is the result:
I might wear it on Halloween. I just might.

Makeup?????

My friend recently asked me to do a post on makeup tips. I hope this helps!!

Nononononononononono
Cheeks- You know those cheap, hard brushes that blush usually comes with? Yeah. Those don't allow you to blend as well. Instead, you should buy a fluffy blush brush.
Yesyesyes!!!
When applying- Smile!! Apply blush to the apples of you cheeks. Tip: When I'm putting blush on, I usually put it on the lower half of my (nonexsistent) cheekbones to make them look more pronounced.
How to choose which shade of blush looks natural on you- When you're out buying blush, pinch you cheeks hard. Then look for a blush color that matches your flushed cheeks.
Lips-I prefer to put on lipstain first, then a moisturizing lip balm/gloss after to keep my lips soft. When you're buying lipstain, don't be disappointed if your lip color turns out different then expected. I remember I bought one once that looked pale pink, and then when I put it on, my lips were red!!
If you have thin lips-dab gloss only on the center of you top and bottom lip to make it look fuller.
Also, your gloss shouldn't be sticky and thick when you apply it on. If it is, it either means it has expired, or the lip gloss isn't good quality.
Skin- I never put on foundation unless I have to go somewhere with very bright lights. (i.e. the stage, or a photoshoot) If your young, foundation can make you look like your trying too hard. But if you must...
Get foundation in a color that matches the tannest spot on your face (usually foreheads). First apply liquid/cream foundation, then powder to set it. I usually don't use a brush to apply liquid/cream foundation, because it leaves streaks on your face. Its better to use your hands to apply it, and then a makeup sponge to blend.
Eyes- If you have contact lenses, put them in BEFORE you do eye makeup.
The white eyeliner is pointing to the waterline.
Eyeshadow- I don't really wear eyeshadow to school, only to formal events or when I'm experimenting on my own. You know those sponge applicators that eyeshadows usually come with? I don't like to use those when I'm blending, only to pat color on. When your blending, use a fluffy EYESHADOW brush. (There's a difference between that, and a fluffy blush brush.) When buying powder eye-shadow, go for more known brands, because chances are, the shadow's going to be more pigmented. (Pigmented means more vivid, and it shows up better on you eyelids.)

Eyeliner- Attention people who are afraid of eyeliner-Believe it or not, it is possible to get over your fear of stabbing yourself with one. And even if you do, which, trust me I have, it does not damage your vision or make u bleed. To make eyeliner look more natural, apply it on your waterline. Your waterline is the area right above your lower lashes, and right under your upper lashes. White eyeliner will brighten your eyes, and make them look bigger (When applied to waterline.). However, if you have darker skin, white eyeliner can look a bit harsh. Try using peach if that happens.
Mascara- Clumpy mascara means its either expired (they expire usually after 3-4 months) or you shouldn't buy this brand of mascara anymore. Tip: To decrease clumping, wiggle your wand at the base of your eyelashes.
Eyelash curler-OMG I LOVE THESE THINGS! Always curl first then put mascara on second! At first, they may be a little difficult to use, but it gets easier. How to use: Put the curved part of the curler against you eyes, and make sure your eyelashes are showing through the gap. Press the scissor-like grips together, until your eyelashes are sticking straight up. Hold for 10 seconds, or longer if you have hard to curl eyelashes. After you've curled them, don't use too much mascara, it will weigh down your lashes and take away the curl. Apply a thin coat

Always remember-being good at makeup takes a loooong time, so don't get upset if you fail. Good luck!
