For those of you that know me, is there really a method to my fashion-crazed madness?? And the answer is: yes there is. Before I shop, I follow a format that allows me to save money, time, and...whatever else there is to save. Crazy, I know, but it works. It's called: the SLASH method. (Yes I made that up. No you may not claim it was your idea.) SLASH stands for Spot, List, Assess, Shop, and Hit. (Oh, btw, it would be wise to keep track of your slash lists in a notebook.) This is what it should look like recorded:
September 7, 2010 (Date)
SPOT: Write where you spotted the outfit you desire. Include picture on right ----------->
LIST: List articles of clothing that make up the outfit. ex)
- black and white floral dress
- black tights
- black booties (check off as you buy them
ASSESS: assess your different store options. Here, you should search online for the pieces, and choose the cheapest or best one. ex)
Black and white floral dress:
- Hollister: $27
- Forever21: $15 (Psstt. It's the cheapest. Circle this one.)
- Charlotte Russe: $21
SHOP: On the weekend, or whenever you have shopping time, go by your outfit! KEEP THE RECEIPT. You never know what may come up. ex)
Black and white dress:
bought- 9/4/10
HIT: Wear it to school/weekend whatever! Note how many compliments you recieved and feel good about yourself in your lusted after outfit :)
